Senior Search Engineer (m/f/d) in Berlin

Your Tasks

• You will work in close collaboration with Data Science and Product Management to bring our search to the next level (identify relevant issues and propose new ways to solve them, create services that rank and personalise search results) 
• You will play an active role in the search roadmap definition to make sure we build the right things
• Together with other disciplines, you ensure we deliver our solutions quickly and safely into production
• You supervise and share search knowledge with other engineers
• You follow best practises in software development, applying them to our code and improving on the whole code base
• You work closely together with our cross-functional development teams in a SCRUM environment

Your Profile

• 2+ years of experience building search engines (ideally in e-commerce company)
• Strong experience with either ElasticSearch, SOLR or Lucene
• Hands on experience with a modern object oriented programming language (ideally PHP 7+)
• Hands on experience with API design and development
• Knowledge about professional software engineering (basic algorithms and data structures, advanced concepts of software design, clean code, agile processes)
• Good English skills
• Our Technology Stack (you don’t have to be an expert in all areas of our technology stack, but most of the technologies should be familiar to you):
• Backend: ElasticSearch, PHP 7/8, MySQL, Swagger, Git, Aerospike, Composer, Codeception/PHPUnit
• Infrastructure: nginx, Saltstack, Rackspace Cloud, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes
