Your Tasks


Leadership
  • Leading, promoting, motivating and developing the Category Leads and Category Managers with regard to professional and personal topics
  • Implementation of all personnel measures affecting the employees in coordination with the management of the strategic business area and the personnel team
Sales and earnings responsibility for the category
  • Continuous review of sales and earning targets
  • Initiation of measures in the event of deviations from the plan
Working cross-functionally
  • Work together in initiatives with different departments to achieve the company goals
  • Work together daily with our Product Data, Pricing and Private Label departments
Supplier management
  • Preparing the team to successfully conduct supplier discussions, negotiating conditions and framework agreements
  • Definition, evaluation and selection as well as sourcing of new suppliers and products
  • Classification and management of the existing suppliers to optimize yield
  • Control purchasing & inventory
  • Planning and controlling of secondary income from goods (bonuses, trade mark, etc.)
Prepare the strategic direction and further development of the product ranges at home and abroad
  • Continuous creative development of the product groups based on the essential key figures (sales, cancellations, returns, stocks, readiness for delivery, etc.) taking into account market trends and consumer wishes
  • Development of competitive assortment, offer concepts and pricing strategies taking into account margin goals
  • Consistent market and competition observation (trade fair, shopping trips, online analyses)

Your Profile

  • You bring an academic record with a degree from a top tier college or university
  • You bring 8+ years of experience in Category Management of which at least 4 years were in a leadership role
  • You know eCommerce inside out
  • You know about the challenges that fast-growing digital businesses face and how to cope with them (incl. Internationalisation)
  • You are a motivated people manager and feel at home in an agile and fast moving environment
  • You are skilled in active listening with high emotional intelligence and the ability to build fast rapport and trustworthy relationships
  • You have a strong background in Negotiation and People Development, including building up of strategy and processes
  • You are a strategic thinker
  • You are Fluent in both- German and English
