Your Tasks

• You are responsible for the newly formed area “Technology” at Contorion - this includes the departments IT Engineering, Product Management, Data Science, Business Intelligence and System Administration (50+ FTE)
• You are responsible for a diverse set of departments that have different challenges and styles of working. Your task is it to achieve an alignment between these departments and also the stakeholders by embracing this diversity while making sure the interfaces between teams connect. You ensure this by working together closely with the Heads of your departments, to individually develop the Heads and also departments further through enabling and supporting them
• You are in charge of owning and developing our product and technology vision and strategy further
• In the short term, this means evolving our e-Commerce product offering for our diverse B2B customer groups further
• In the long term, this means building new products that solve other customer pain points, including creating business cases and ultimately convincing management and Contorion’s advisory board to secure funding for these products
• Subsequently, you will own the business case for these products and lead the implementation and delivery across departments (also outside Technology)
• As SVP Technology you are part of the Management Board of Contorion, which consists of six people in total. In this board we set the strategic direction of the company, develop and commit budgets and personnel plans as well as own the top level KPIs

Your Profile

• You possess excellent leadership skills and have led larger product/engineering teams for at least 5 years. You lead by enabling and supporting your leadership team and focus on personally developing them and their teams further
• You can work across a diverse set of styles of working, can resolve conflicts and cross-departmental dependencies and unite different teams behind common goal
• You have a strong entrepreneurial mind set. You can wear the technical hat when needed, while your main task is to wear the strategic hat. You have proven to be able to build business cases, ideally from creation until implementation
• You have gained experience with fast-growing, technology-oriented companies with previous knowledge in e-Commerce being a big plus
• You have studied and/or worked in ideally at least two of the following areas: software engineering, product management, business intelligence or data science
• You have shown that you can develop a product vision. You can work with a large set of stakeholders, balance varying requirements and work out the best solution for the entire business. You have a drive for innovation and customer centricity
• You possess excellent analytical skills, are a strong team player and can communicate fluently in English
